Environmental Observations

Observations of basic environmental parameters are critical for health applications and to generate better climate-health products. This programme will focus on establishing requirements that can be fed to other programmes tasked with implementation of environment and health observation and assessment networks.

Increase the capacity to use remote sensing data and numerical methods to enhance value of existing climate and health observing networks in 2-3 countries (donor funding required)

Apply health and related environmental risk reduction tools in at least 10 countries (donor funding and country funding required)

Make capability available to all Africa and assist in developing capacity to implement wherever required (donor funding and country funding required)

Contribute to integrating human dimension information and environmental forecast information into risk assessment tools (donor and research funding)

Expand data improvement capability to at least 10 countries (Donor funding and country funding required)
